Like all sports, practicing skateboarding is not without risks. In fact, falls are not inevitable. However, there are some solutions that can help to reduce the risk of injury when you fall: protective accessories. It is therefore necessary to protect important areas of your body in order to prevent injuries. The most exposed areas are the head, wrists and knees. There is therefore a wide range of protective accessories such as skate helmets, knee pads, wrist guards and reinforced gloves.

Skate protection cushions the impact but does not prevent injury. However, being well-equipped is essential for beginner or expert skaters.

Skate helmet:

The main accessory when you are skateboarding is the skate helmet. In fact, the head is the most exposed part of the body during a fall. Even if you don't fall very far, it can have dramatic consequences on our body. It is therefore essential to acquire a quality skate helmet specially made for this practice.

Gloves

Gloves are another key element in skateboarding. They are even essential because the first unconscious gesture you have during a fall is to put your hands forward to absorb the shock. There is nothing more unpleasant than having scratches, cuts or burns on your hands.

The Flying Wheels gloves are designed for slide riding, which is the practice of gaining speed on a downhill slope and using your hands as a support for skidding. This is why skateboarders use gloves with removable pads. These accessories wear out and need to be changed regularly depending on the frequency of your sessions.

 Knee pads

Another very important protection is knee pads. The knees are also a very sensitive part of the body that must be taken care of. Made up of tendons and ligaments, even if they take very big impacts, they are the ones that take the shock waves first. It is therefore necessary to use knee pads. Their aim is to be protected against impacts, to strengthen tendons and avoid elongations during movements.

Elbow pads:

During your session, when you are falling backwards, elbows take the impact and this can be dramatic in terms of fractures and sprains. It is therefore very important to use elbow pads, especially for children and beginners. We have several models that are easy to put on and take off for ideal comfort and support.

With this list of protective accessories you are now ready to practice skateboard safely!
